Computer Science Intensive Core Certificate

The Computer Science Intensive Core Certificate is designed for those who earned an undergraduate degree in something other than computer science but need core computer science classes to satisfy an employer or advance their career.

Eligible students must have successfully completed 8 credits in MA 171 Calculus I and MA 172 Calculus II with a grade of "B" of better.

The program consists of three intensive courses which combine a number of classes as follows:

  • CS 521 - Combines CS 102, CS 121, CS 221, CS 307, some CS 104, and some CS 321
  • CS 513 - Combines CS 413, CS 490, and CS 309 (except boolean algebra)
  • CS 517 - Combines CS 214, CS 317, and CS 309 (boolean algebra portion)

Second Bachelor’s Degree

Are you interested in getting a second undergraduate degree at UAH and wondering what courses you would need to take? Many students choose to attend UAH to complete upper level courses toward a second bachelor’s degree in a Science field. 

Breadth Requirements for Graduate Degree

Sometimes students just need the undergraduate prerequisites before applying for a graduate program at UAH. For instance, you might have majored in history but now want to pursue a graduate degree in Computer Science. You would need to take undergraduate computer science courses and possibly some math courses in order to apply to graduate school.
