There are multiple student organizations at UAH that are geared towards the various Pre-Health fields. Getting engaged on campus is a great way to meet new people with like-minded interests as well as gain experience in various avenues. It is strongly encouraged that all Pre-Health students at UAH get involved in at least one or more organizations on campus to gain insight into their field of interest and to network with peers pursuing similar careers. Pre-Health Ambassadors Alpha Epsilon Delta - Medical Careers Club | AED - MCC Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) functions both as an Honor Society and service organization. This dual role is reflected in the societal structure and chapter activities. The mission of AED is to encourage and recognize excellence in pre-health scholarship; to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of education; to promote communication between undergraduate and professional-school students and educators; to provide a forum for students with common interests; and to use its resources to benefit health organizations, charities and the community. Association of Nursing Students The UAH Association of Nursing Students is an official constituent chapter of the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA). With a membership of approximately 56,000 nationwide, the National Student Nurses' Association mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance. All nursing majors, including pre-nursing students, are eligible for membership. Biological Society The UAH Biological Society is designed to promote and cultivate the higher learning of the biological sciences and to introduce students to all of the ways in which they can be involved in the field of study, including exposure to career opportunities, academic and professional speakers, and opportunities to interact with like-minded peers.
