UAH is governed by The Board of Trustees of The University of Alabama that vests authority in the campus president to lead the university. The president is assisted by the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs; the vice president for student affairs; the vice president for research and economic development; the vice president for finance and administration; the vice president for university advancement; the vice president for strategic communications; and the vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion. The president, together with the vice presidents and chief external affairs officer, function as the university's executive committee.
