2001 – Terrell Gibbs

Terrell Gibbs, MSE, civil and environmental engineering, was recently hired as the Deputy Director of Operations for Water Resources for Rockdale County, Georgia.  As Deputy Director, Dr. Gibbs will be responsible for a staff of approximately 80 personnel, which include water treatment and wastewater treatment departments, as well as working in conjunction with the Director and county commission in developing and implementing the short and long-term goals of the County’s water and wastewater needs.

Dr. Gibbs is a 2001 graduate of UAH, where he earned a Master of Science in Engineering degree (MSE) in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  Dr. Gibbs previously earned a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Environmental Science from Alabama A&M University, and most recently earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, specializing in Engineering Management, from Walden University.  Dr. Gibbs is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Georgia and a member of several organizations to include the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Gibbs, Jr., Dr. Gibbs is married, and he and his wife are the proud parents of a 2 year-old boy.  Dr. Gibbs and his family currently reside in Decatur, GA.
