Vasileios Pavlopoulos

Dr. Vasileios Pavlopoulos recently joined The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business (COB) as an Assistant Professor of Management Science.

His research focuses on the field of data analytics, where he is driven by the quest to draw impactful insights from data that can empower professionals in their decision-making processes. Currently, he is heavily focused on time series analysis. Through this, he aims to pinpoint significant events, streamline future predictions and develop algorithms that are not only effective, but also user-friendly for real-world applications.

Dr. Pavlopoulos says joining the UAH COB was a proud moment for him, given its reputation as an R1 institution. He says the abundance of research opportunities and the supportive community here assures personal growth in the field. Dr. Pavlopoulos says he is looking forward to working with everyone in the college, and he is glad to be a part of this community. In addition, he says it's the wonderful people in his department that have made a world of difference. He says they're not only brilliant in their research and teaching, but they're genuinely kind-hearted, and they've made him feel right at home.

During the Fall 2023 semester, Dr. Pavlopoulos will be teaching Introduction to Computer Programming in Business and Data Visualization & Leadership Communication.

Dr. Pavlopoulos obtained his doctoral degree in business administration with a focus in operations and management science from Washington State University, where he also earned his Master of Science in Business Administration and Master of Science in Applied Statistics. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering also from the Polytechnic University of Patras.
