Campus IDs
All campus community members should have two IDs:
Your Banner ID is also referred to as your A number. It is an 8-digit number that begins with a capital A. The letter A is part of the ID. To access Banner, you must supply the full Banner ID (including the capital A) and your PIN (Personal Identification Number). If you do not know your PIN, feel free to contact TAG at 256-824-3333 or Charger Central at 256-824-7777. If you have established your security questions and answers, you can reset your own PIN; just enter your Banner ID (include capital A) and click the Forgot PIN? button.
Your Charger ID is the text listed to the left of the '@' sign in your email address. Typically the format of your Charger ID consists of your three initials followed by a 4 digit sequence number (e.g., 0001). Your Charger ID is used to access everything but Banner (ANGEL, the UAHuntsville network, and more). The ITS User Services Portal allows you to enter your Banner credentials and find your Charger ID or to reset your Charger password. Resetting your password here sets the new value as a random string (not the default password), and your change will not apply to your email account.
If you chose to reset your Charger password, we recommend that you use the new password to log into the ITS User Services Portal. From there, you can use the "Change my password(s)" button to change your password to a value of your choosing. Most people choose to set the same password for both systems, but you can choose to keep yours different.
