The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will host its second annual Day of Giving, a 24-hour online fundraising initiative that invites friends, family, and alumni to make a one-time gift in support of the university. The event will kick off at 12:01 a.m. the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 1, and close that evening at 11:59 p.m.

As with gifts given throughout the year, those made during the Day of Giving will go to support student scholarships, student research collaborations with faculty, campus speakers, student stipends for study-abroad opportunities, and athletics.

"Last year, we raised over $7,000 thanks to our generous donors," says Jennifer Brost, Director of Annual Giving & Research. "This year we're hoping to reach our goal of $20,000." But no matter what the final total on Dec. 1, she continues, "we are always appreciative of the support we receive from our friends, family, and alumni throughout the year."

Funds raised over the course of UAH's Day of Giving are tax deductible, but must be made online during the designated 24-hour period to count toward the day's total. To help spread the word, donors are also encouraged to share news of their participation on social media using #UAHDayofGiving.

Donations can be made at www.uah.edu/day-of-giving or uah.edu/giving.
