The Office of Pre-Health Professions Advising offers guidance for current UAH students who want to pursue a career in healthcare. 

"Pre-Health" is not a major, it's a goal.

The Pre-Health Professions Advising office is here to serve all UAH pre-health profession students, regardless of their major. In addition to your major Academic Advisor, our Pre-Health Professions Program exists to help you become the best possible candidate for the healthcare-related graduate and professional program of your choice. Enrolled Pre-Health students gain a Pre-Health Professions Advisor and additional resources to ensure they build a competitive application for their desired professional healthcare program. 

Benefits of Pre-Health Advising:

  • Advisement on prerequisite courses for the professional healthcare program of your choice
  • Resume review, personal statement guidance, interviewing etiquette tips, and professional and graduate school application support
  • Guidance on shadowing opportunities, community service, leadership roles, and research positions.
  • Referrals to a wide variety of resources and opportunities both on and off campus

The Pre-Health Office helps students develop the extracurricular skills that graduate and professional school admissions boards seek.
