Graduate School Orientation

Join us during one of our Graduate School orientation dates prior to the start of the semester to start your term on the right foot. Our goal is to acquaint you with UAH personnel, services, policies, and procedures as a newcomer to The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

  • Friday, December 7th from 3:00 to 4:45 PM
  • Thursday, December 13th from 3:00 to 4:45 PM
  • Friday, January 4th from 3:00 to 4:45 PM (international students)
  • All dates will be hosted in the Salmon Library, Room 206 on the Second Floor

Admitted students are requested to RSVP to let us know you will attend.

Don't delay; space is limited. Can't attend? All students will be emailed general orientation information so they don't miss out. Until then, be sure to review our Newly Admitted Graduate Student Guide to help you get started before the first day of classes.

  • Newly Admitted Graduate Student Orientation is open for Fall. REGISTER NOW Note: Orientation is not required for masters and PhD students but is highly recommended.
  • Join our new UAH Graduate Student Facebook Group to receive updates and to meet other admitted students like yourself!
  • Begin checking your @uah.edu email account for special announcements. To access your UAH email account, visit mail.uah.edu and enter your Charger email address as the username. Review the checklist mentioned above for complete details on all your accounts.

We polled our current students and asked them what they wished they had known before they started graduate school. The three main areas are time commitment, being your own self-advocate, and what's the difference between a thesis and non-thesis degree. Dr. Berkowitz, Graduate Dean is here to explain.
