Congratulations! You've made a great decision in choosing to join the Charger family! As a new transfer student admitted to UAH for the Summer and Fall 2025 semesters, your next step is to meet with your academic advisor and choose your orientation experience. Step 1 Choose Your Orientation Experience New transfers have the option of completing Transfer Online Orientation or attending Charger Camp, our in-person Transfer orientation experience. All transfer students should complete their orientation of choice before the first day of classes of their entry term. Important Update We're excited to announce that UAH is moving to a new and improved online application portal! New transfer students who are admitted prior to March 21 will need to create a Charger Status account in our new portal in order to register for New Student Orientation. An email will be sent to you upon admission with information detailing how to access your new account. Transfer Orientation Options: Charger Camp Session #1 - May 21 (W)*This session is reserved for transfer students admitted for the Summer 2025 term. Charger Camp Session #2 - June 13 (F) Charger Camp Session #3 - July 25 (F) Transfer Online Orientation - Complete at your own pace. CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE Step 2 Meet with your Academic Advisor Schedule an advising appointment with your academic advisor to discuss class selection and any transfer credit. Locate your academic advisor Please note that once your transfer credit evaluation has been completed, you will be eligible to register for classes. You do not have to wait until after completing your orientation experience to create a class schedule. Class registration for the Summer 2025 semester begins on March 3, 2025, and registration for the Fall 2025 begins on May 15, 2025. Orientation Fees Students completing Transfer Orientation will be charged a $50 orientation fee that will be included in your university bill payable when tuition is due at the start of the semester. What to Expect No matter which experience you choose, you can expect to: Learn about campus resources and amenities Discover tools to enable your academic success at UAH Learn about campus, student involvement opportunities, and traditions Receive information about what you should do before joining us on campus, such as registering for classes, choosing a meal plan, registering for your Charger ID, submitting your immunization form, purchasing a parking decal, and more. By attending Charger Camp on campus, you will also have the opportunity to: Meet with an academic advisor to finalize your class schedule Meet and socialize with new and current UAH students Important Information about Transfer Online Orientation: Students can complete Transfer Online Orientation at their own pace starting May 1, 2025. Students will receive an invitation to complete Transfer Online Orientation through a Canvas course. This email invitation will be send to your official @uah.edu email account. Students are encouraged to complete Transfer Online Orientation no later than the first day of fall classes.
