Fund Your Education with Scholarships

No matter what type of student you are, UAH has scholarships available that help you afford your education. In fact, all new first-time freshman and transfer applicants are automatically considered for Academic Scholarships, without an additional scholarship application required. All types of students are able to apply for competitive scholarships, which are generously funded by alumni and friends of the university. This page provides an overview of the various scholarships of which UAH students may take advantage.

Academic Merit Scholarships

UAH recognizes new first-time freshmen who have demonstrated superior academic achievement in high school. Scholarship consideration will be given to all first-time freshmen who are offered admission to UAH. No separate scholarship application is required.

Apply for Competitive Scholarships

Thanks to alumni and friends of UAH, students may seek additional scholarship assistance by applying for competitive scholarships. To begin applying for competitive scholarships, you must first be admitted to UAH. The UAH Scholarship Application is comprehensive and used to determine eligibility for all competitive scholarships. Student eligibility is based on a variety of criteria, including academic interests and achievements, special talents, and demonstrated leadership. The priority deadline for submission of this application is December 15, though applications received after this date will still be considered for any remaining awards after the initial selection process has been completed.

Honestly, the biggest thing that drew me towards UAH were the scholarships. The financial support I was able to receive at UAH was better than any other school I was looking at, even those in my own state!

Outside Scholarships

Scholarships other than those offered by UAH exist; you may use these third-party scholarships to fund your education. UAH does not fund or assist in the selection process for outside scholarships. As a service to our students, UAH maintains a list of outside scholarship opportunities. For more information about these outside scholarships, please contact the organization in question directly.

We use the COA when determining your eligibility for need-based financial aid; however, you may wish to refer to these estimated expenses to assist in your budget planning process. For another estimate of your cost of attendance, use the Net Price Calculator. Please also note that you may pay a different amount dependent upon your specific course of study and that all costs are subject to change.
