Dear Campus Banner Finance Self-Service Users:
The current version of the Banner Finance Self-Service “Budget Query” that you are using daily, Version 8, will be gradually phased out by Ellucian over the next 12-month period and discontinued for operation in July 2023. The Office of Budgets and Management Information has been working with OIT for the past 6 months in preparation for the launching of the latest version of Banner Finance Self-Service, Version 9.4.
Please be informed effective November 1, 2022 (FY 2022-2023), Version 8 will be taken down from Banner Finance Self-Service, and Version 9.4 will be installed. Banner Finance Self-Service Version 9.4’s “My Finance Query” will be available on November 1, 2022, and “My Requisition” will be available sometime in FY 2023. Many of you utilize the budget query module to track your detailed transaction activities, check available balances, reconcile billings with sponsored agencies, and prepare future financial planning.
As some of you who attended the training on Version 9.4 “My Finance Query” already know, the navigation and appearance of Version 9.4 is entirely different from Banner 8, the version you are using now. However, the functionality of both the versions remains the same. As with any new software launches, the Budget Office and OIT will continue to use your feedback to communicate with Ellucian to improve the functionality of the budget query module.
Many of you attended a training session on “My Finance” in May. The Budget Office will offer monthly group training sessions starting in October focusing on learning to do budget queries. In addition to the group sessions, individual one-on-one training is available upon request. Tammy Haymon (tgh0008@uah.edu) and Melissa Brown (mab063@uah.edu) are responsible for training the campus on “My Finance”. If you attended a training session in May and need a refresher, or if you are a new user and need training, please contact either Tammy or Melissa. Additional information on “My Finance” training will be released before September 30, 2022.
