The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is committed to supporting its campus community through both the good and bad that life has to offer. Created in 2003, the Student, Staff, and Faculty Emergency Fund (SSAFE) provides relief from the pressure and anxiety of unpredictable emergencies.

Unforeseen, critical, or emergent situations sometimes arise that are beyond our ability to control personally, emotionally, or financially. The SSAFE Fund protects those in the UAH community who are experiencing emergency situations, paying for expenses like rent, utilities, car payments/repairs, groceries, and medical bills. Since its inception, aid from the SSAFE Fund has removed barriers for members of our community so they are able to graduate or fulfill work requirements.

By making a gift to UAH’s SSAFE Fund, you will help alleviate the burdens of those in crisis. All gifts are 100% tax deductible. Assistance is given on a case-by-case basis and does not have to be repaid, though many who receive support later give back when their circumstances have changed. The SSAFE Fund has given individuals anywhere from $5 to $25,000—your donation, no matter the size, could change the trajectory of a person’s life and well-being.

Contributions can be made online or by check. Payroll deduction is also accepted on recurring gifts at a minimum of $10 made by UAH faculty and staff.
