The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) partners with Flywire to provide a fast and secure way to make international education payments to Student Accounts in myUAH. The best price is guaranteed on exchange rates and they offer the ability to pay in local currency or other desired currency. Additionally, Flywire’s online payment portal is translated into several languages and offers Live Chat, WeChat, Skype, and other help options for any questions.
How to Make an International Payment
Students or their Authorized Users can process an international payment by:
- Click the Make Payment tab in their Student Account
- Select "International Payment via Flywire" as the payment method
- Select the country to pay from
- Choose from the available payment methods (for example, international credit and debit cards, wire transfers, and other options).
A non-refundable 3.95% service fee will be added to all international credit/debit card transactions.
This is the University's only approved method for inbound payments to the student account from outside the U.S. and ensures that payment can be credited to a student’s account the moment we receive it.
Processing Time
It typically takes three (3) to five (5) business days for the University to receive the payment; therefore, please be sure to initiate a transfer so that the University will receive payment by the appropriate deadline.
Refunds of International Payments
Funds received through Flywire must also be refunded through Flywire. Unfortunately, we cannot return international payments directly through the office, as they must be refunded in the currency paid. Refunds of international funds must be requested in writing via bursar@uah.edu. Please allow 10-14 business days for the University to process this return.
