2024–2025 Academic Year The UAH College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences provides publicly accessible data on EPP candidate performance and program effectiveness in alignment with CAEP Standards 4 and 5. The following measures demonstrate the impact, quality, and outcomes of our educator preparation programs (EPP). Measure 1: Completer Impact and Effectiveness Initial Licensure (R4.1) UAH evaluates completer impact on P–12 student learning through structured case studies conducted each academic semester. These case studies examine how program completers apply professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in real classroom settings where they serve as the teacher of record. Number of completers participating (2024–2025): 7 Data sources: Completer case studies, ALSDE First-Year Teacher Survey Key Findings: Completers demonstrated effective instructional planning and implementation Evidence of positive contributions to student learning and engagement Application of data-informed instructional strategies Supporting Documentation: CAEP Completer Case Study Overview ALSDE Higher Ed Report Card with Responses to First-Year Teacher Survey Measure 2: Satisfaction of Employers and Stakeholder Involvement We maintain strong partnerships with P-12 schools to ensure our curriculum effectively equips completers to meet the evolving needs of the classroom. We gauge success through annual employer satisfaction surveys and the active participation of our stakeholders in our education advisory councils. Initial Licensure (R4.2, R5.3) The New Teacher Survey is distributed by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) to principals and other school administrators to evaluate our completers who are in their first or second year of employment. Additionally, the EPP also administers an employer survey via a contracted vendor to further collect disaggregated data currently unavailable through the state report. Key Data (2024–2025): Survey response rate: 40% Overall employer satisfaction: 100% Moderately to Extremely Satisfied Stakeholder Involvement: UAH maintains active partnerships with P–12 schools through: Advisory councils Ongoing collaboration with school administrators Actively soliciting feedback used to inform program improvements Supporting Documentation: ALSDE Higher Ed Report Card with Responses to New Teacher Survey Initial Employer Survey Overview (via external vendor) TEAC Meeting Recap Advanced Licensure (RA4.1) For the 2024-2025 reporting cycle, the EPP initiated an employer satisfaction survey targeting supervisors of our Advanced Licensure Program completers. However, the survey yielded a 0% response rate out of 11 Employer contacts provided by 88 Completers. Feedback from employers indicated that they were unable to complete the evaluation with confidence due to the anonymous nature of the survey. To protect the confidentiality of our advanced completers, the EPP did not provide specific names to employers. Without a direct association between the survey and a specific employee, employers expressed they could not provide accurate or meaningful performance data. The EPP is currently reviewing our survey distribution protocols to find a balance between candidate privacy and employer clarity. For the next cycle, we are exploring solutions with our stakeholders to allow for more targeted and confident employer feedback. Continuous Improvement Actions: Revising survey distribution methods regarding advanced licensure completers Exploring ways to balance candidate confidentiality with employer clarity Collaborating with stakeholders to improve response rates Supporting Documentation: Advanced Employer Survey Response Measure 3: Candidate Competency at Program Completion Initial Licensure (R3.3) A. New Teacher Survey The ALSDE distributes the New Teacher Survey to completers from our EPP currently employed in public schools in Alabama. Additionally, the EPP also administers a completer survey via a contracted vendor to further collect disaggregated data currently unavailable through the state report. UAH Intern Survey Additionally, after completion of internship, candidates also respond to an EPP-survey designed to assess their satisfaction with their preparation. Intern Evaluation Survey C. Licensure Exam and Performance Data The Alabama State Department of Education requires candidates to pass the Praxis content area tests prior to admission to internship; therefore, the Praxis II pass rate for completers is 100% (per state requirement). Early childhood/early childhood special education, collaborative education, and elementary education candidates must also pass the Foundations of Reading Test (FORT) administered by Pearson. Additionally, interns must earn a passing score on the required edTPA to be recommended for licensure. Graduation Rates The completer graduation rate is defined as the rate at which candidates successfully complete student teaching and earn a passing score on the edTPA. In the 2024-2025 academic year, 100% of UAH candidates successfully completed the internship and earned a passing score on the edTPA. Advanced Licensure (RA3.4) A. Advanced Teacher Survey The EPP initiated a survey aimed at gaining insights into the effectiveness of Advanced Programming for completers who have graduated within the past three academic years. Out of 79 completers, 17 responded. Advanced Completer Survey B. Licensure Exam Pass Rate Candidates who complete an advanced licensure program in ESOL or Instructional Leadership are required to earn a qualifying score on the appropriate Praxis II content exam to satisfy state licensing requirements. In 2024-2025, 92% of advanced completers who were required to take a Praxis II content exam for advanced licensure earned a qualifying score. Praxis II Advanced Candidate Scores C. Graduation Rates Advanced completer graduation rates are determined by reviewing the number of completers divided by the number of admitted students for a three-year cohort. This cohort-based approach accounts for part-time enrollment patterns. For the 2024-25 academic year, that requires looking at cohorts admitted into the program in 2022. For this cohort, the graduate rate is 81%. Measure 4: Ability of Completers to be Hired Initial Licensure The New Teacher Survey is administered to initial certification completers in their first year of employment. This data was requested from the Alabama State Department of Education and has not been provided. The EPP also administers a completer survey via a contracted vendor to further collect data currently unavailable through the state report. Survey respondents: 19 Pursued employment: 96% Secured/maintained employment: 95% These results demonstrate strong employability of program completers in education settings. This data was requested from the Alabama State Department of Education and has not been provided. The EPP initiated a survey aimed at gaining insights into the effectiveness of Advanced Licensure Programming for completers who have graduated within the past three academic years. Survey respondents: 17 of 79 completers Employed full-time in education or related field: 100% Working in field of study: 94% These findings indicate high levels of career advancement and alignment with program preparation.
