Biography

Research: Gamma-Ray Bursts, Multi-Messenger Astronomy

Lorenzo Scotton was awarded a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Montpellier, France, in 2023 defending a thesis titled "Analysis and interpretation of Fermi gamma-ray bursts in the framework of an internal-shock synchrotron model and contribution to the multi-messenger astronomy". He joined the Fermi-GBM team in Huntsville in July 2023 as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant. Dr. Scotton continued to investigate the synchrotron origin of the prompt emission in gamma-ray bursts: he was awarded a research grant as Principal Investigator to explore such interpretation. Additionally, Dr. Scotton contributed to the gravitational-wave follow-up activities of the Fermi-GBM team. He actively participated in the development and refinement of the team’s analysis software, contributing to its adaptability to future missions.
