Does UAH Testing and Certification Services only offer tests for UAH students?

We are an open Test Center and offer testing services to the surrounding community.  We are continually trying to add to the variety of tests and certification exams we offer. If you don't see the test or certification you need, contact us, and we'll make every effort to get it for you.

Is parking available?

UAH Zoned Parking

UAH enforces zone parking. UAH Testing and Certification Services will provide you with a parking permit on the day of your exam.

Arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled exam time in order to come by Wilson Hall, Room 214 to pick up a parking permit. You will need to provide your vehicle's license plate number to receive the parking permit.

Please ONLY park in either of the appropriate zones:

  • BLUE zones — designated as UAH Permit parking.
  • WHITE zones — designated as Commuter and Faculty/Staff parking.

Parking for UAH Testing and Certification Services is generally available in lot G5, adjacent to Wilson Hall. However, you may park in any appropriately zoned parking lot on campus.

Parking Permits

  • You MUST have a parking permit to avoid a $50 parking fine.
  • You may pick up a parking permit in Wilson Hall, Room 214 on the day of your exam.
  • UAH Employees and students should park in their assigned respective zones.

How do I find out more information about available tests?

You can find information on each test by visiting the UAH Testing and Certification Services website. Select the test you want from the menu bar located on the left-hand column of the website. You will find a description of the test, what to bring with you on test day, how to register and pay for the test and a link to the test website for more information.

How do I register for a test?

Each test has specific registration requirements. Please visit the UAH Testing and Certification Services website to find details on how to register for your test.

How do I register for ADA accommodations?

Please contact UAH Testing and Certification Services with your specific accommodation request. To ensure accommodations can be met, please contact us several weeks before your desired test date.

How much does each exam cost?

Fees vary depending on the specific test. Please visit the UAH Testing and Certification Services website to find the exact fee requirements for your test.

What is considered an acceptable ID?

Acceptable forms of identification can vary based on the test you are taking. Be sure to check the ID policy for each test.  Most tests require a primary form of identification that contains a photograph and a signature.  All identification must be current.  No expired IDs will be accepted.

Possible acceptable ID may include:

  • A current driver's license
  • A current state or federal ID card
  • A current passport
  • A military ID card
What should I bring with me on test day?

UAH Testing and Certification Services provides most items that you will need for testing, so please limit what you bring with you on test day. See individual tests for items allowed specifically for your test.

May I bring a calculator or scratch paper with me on test day?
  • Calculator policy varies by test.
    • Many tests have calculators built into their software.
    • Please see each individual test to view calculator-use guidelines.
    • Alabama State Department of Insurance Exam candidates will be provided with a calculator to use for their exam.
  • If scratch paper is permitted on your test, UAH Testing and Certification Services will supply it.
    • No outside scratch paper is allowed.
Can I bring a snack or a drink with me?

No food or drinks are allowed in the testing room.

May I bring my child with me on test day?

For the safety of you and your children and out of consideration for other testers, under NO circumstances are children permitted in the testing room. Children may not be left unattended on the UAH campus during testing, so please make child care arrangements prior to your scheduled test date.
