Salmon Library LIB111. The UAH Graduate School and the M. Louis Salmon Library present the inaugural Scholar's Studio. You are invited to attend and hear two graduate student researchers at UAH - Amir Ahmadi, PhD, College of Engineering; and Megan Breitbach, PhD, College of Science - talk about their respective research: their process, their data, and their goals. Refreshments will be provided. No RSVP is needed. For more information about our presenters: Amir Ahmadi is working on the application of electrochemical technology in water and wastewater treatment. He is focusing on the development of nanostructured TiO2 electrodes for generating oxidizing or reductive species which can react with pollutants in water, thus degrading pollutants. Megan Breitbach is using computational methods and machine learning algorithms to analyze DNA methylation in sorted B-cells from a cohort of both European and African-American females with and without systemic lupus erythematosus. One of her goals is to develop a predictive model for this disease and its severity.
