Learning from Chinese Philosophy Conference/Lecture Thursday, January 19, 2023 The event started -616 days agoMultiday event - 0 days 4:00 PM 6:00 PM Morton Hall 102 Join the Humanities Center, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and the Department of Philosophy for the first in a series of public lectures by Professor Bryan Van Norden, 2023 Visiting Eminent Scholar. Professor Van Norden is a leading international scholar of Chinese philosophy, a prominent advocate of multicultural philosophy, and the author of Taking Back Philosophy: A Multicultural Manifesto (Columbia University Press, 2017). His first public lecture at UAH, Learning from Chinese Philosophy, defends the idea that Chinese philosophy is nuanced, insightful and relevant to problems discussed in modern Western academic philosophy. This event is free and open to anyone. Subsequent lectures in this series will occur on Thursdays, 4-6pm, in Morton Hall 102. January 26: Who Was Confucius? And What Did He Really Say?
