Professor Van Norden is a leading international scholar of Chinese philosophy. His ninth public lecture at UAH, Sex, Kung-fu, and Koans: Zen Practice, discusses the often shocking practical applications of Zen Buddhism, from the martial arts, to unconventional lifestyles, to seemingly nonsensical koans like “What is the sound of one hand clapping?” This event is free and open to anyone.
