Public Webinar and Watch Party with Graphic Novelist Malaka Gharib Conference/Lecture Thursday, April 13, 2023 The event started -532 days agoMultiday event - 0 days 6:30 PM Morton Hall Room 145 The UAH Humanities Center, the History Department, and the Association for Middle East Children and Youth Studies (AMECYS) will host Malaka Gharib. Gharib is an Egyptian-Pilipino American, most known for her work as an editor at National Public Radio and for her two graphic novels, I Was Their American Dream (Penguin Random House, 2019) and the recent It Won’t Always Be Like This (Penguin Random House, 2022). She will be discussing the latter, which tells the story of Malaka's childhood summers spent in Egypt with her father and stepmother. The webinar will take place on ZOOM on Thursday, April 13, 6:30 pm. REGISTER HERE. There will be a watch party at Morton Hall 145, doors open at 6:00 pm (registration not required).
