Wilson Hall Gallery

Rm 160

This group exhibition, curated by artist John "Jahni" Moore explores the ideas and ideals of Afrofuturism. The Afrofuturism movement is a cultural aesthetic centered on Black history and culture; it incorporates science-fiction, the cosmos, technology, and futuristic elements into literature, music, and the visual arts. The art in this exhibition examines the past, questions the present, or imagines an optimistic future.  Afrofuturism is meant to inspire a sense of pride, reimagination, and vision in its audience.

Please join us to see works from artists John "Jahni" Moore, Simone Taylor, Carston Culbertson, Adrian Brightwell-Jennings, Allisa Hutchinson, Uthman Abdur Rahman, Tiavalya Befecadu, Asé Selah.

A closing reception will be held in the Wilson Hall Gallery, Thursday, September 7th, from 5pm - 6:30pm.

Gallery Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Free and open to the public.
