This group exhibition, curated by artist John "Jahni" Moore explores the ideas and ideals of Afrofuturism. The Afrofuturism movement is a cultural aesthetic centered on Black history and culture; it incorporates science-fiction, the cosmos, technology, and futuristic elements into literature, music, and the visual arts. The art in this exhibition examines the past, questions the present, or imagines an optimistic future. Afrofuturism is meant to inspire a sense of pride, reimagination, and vision in its audience.
