Traditional Chinese medicine holds that a vital force of life, called Qi, surges through the body and that humans are microcosms of the larger surrounding universe. Any imbalance to Qi can cause disease and illness, and traditional Chinese medicine treatment seeks to restore the balance between health and disease through treatment specific to the individual.
