He graduated from Gonzaga Prepartory High School in June 2001 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He earned the Eagle, Globe and Anchor in September 2001. He served multiple deployments as an Artillery Forward Observer and Civil Affairs Non-Commissioned Officer in support of Ioeration Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terror to include participation in the battles of Fallujah and Ramadi, where he was decorated for his combat action. Capt Collins then transferred to the Marine Corps Mobile Training Teams where he beame an instructor of Marine Corps Martial Arts, Rifle and Pistol Marksmanship, Weapons and Tactics, Close Quaarters Combat and Water Survival. In 2009, Brett conducted an inter-service transfer to the Air Force and earned his Scarle Beret as an Air Force Special Tactics Combat Controller. After sustaining injuries, Capt Collins elected to retrain over retiring and bacame a Command-and-Control Speacilist. As a Command-and-Control Specialist, Capt Collins was stationed at Keesler AFB in Columbus Mississippi with the 81st Training Wing, the World Famous Hurricane Hunters, and Geilenkirchen NATO Airbase. he had a major role in the C-ISIL mission as NATO's only enlisted Duty Officer. While serving with NATO, he was selected to Master Sergeant just a few monts before earning his commission through Officer Training School on September 27, 2019 as a Force Support Officer. Upon completion of OTS, Lt Collins was assigned as a Section Commander for the 726th Air Control Squadron and 391st Fighter Squadron and duel hatted as an Executive Officer and Base Honor Guard OIC as well as COmmunity Support Flight Commander 366th Force Support Squadron.
