September 25, 2012 Google Apps No Longer Supports Export to Old Format of Office Files as of January 31, 2013 Google will discontinue support of Google Docs exported in Office 1997-2003 format (.doc, .xls, .ppt) on January 31,2013 -- an extension of the original date of October 1, 2012. After January 31, 2013, if you access Google Docs or Google Drive and attempt to download a document existing office format download options, docx/xslx/etc., are still supported in addition to any other existing options. If you need to upgrade your office suite you may be eligible to receive Microsoft Office 10 from TAG as part of our campus agreement.
