Students, faculty, and staff operating a motor vehicle or parking on the UAH campus must pay for the privilege and register their vehicle or vehicles with UAH Parking Services. Do visitors require a pass to park on campus? Visitors parking on University property must obtain and display a UAH-issued visitor hangtag from the vehicle’s rearview mirror. Visitor: Friends and family, not affiliated, wishing to visit someone on campus should get a parking pass at Parking Services, located at the Conference Training Center in Suite 147, during our business hours. After hours, you can get a pass at the UAH Police Station. Library: Those who wish to use the Salmon Library and are not affiliated with the university may get a library parking pass at the Circulation Desk. No, you can register multiple vehicles to your parking permit, but the permit must be properly displayed in the vehicle parked on campus. Which zone can I park in? The zones you are allowed to park in can be found on our campus map. What should I do if my car is in the shop for repairs? The permit is registered to you and can be used for rental cars. The permit must be properly displayed in the rental car. You will also need to add the vehicle information to your account at parking.uah.edu. What should I do if I have a family member visiting? Have your family member come to Parking Services, located at the Conference Training Center in Suite 147 for a visitor parking pass Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM until 4 PM. If I purchase a new car, what do I do with my hangtag? Transfer your hangtag to the new vehicle and add the vehicle information to your parking permit at parking.uah.edu. How do I appeal a parking citation? An Appeal Request Form may be completed online at parking.uah.edu. If the appeal is denied, the fine is due immediately. When is zone parking enforced? Zone parking is enforced Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. During this time, you must park in the appropriate zones. Outside of zone enforcement hours, a parking permit is still required. What happens if my permit is lost or stolen? Lost or Stolen Hangtags must be replaced at full cost unless one of two items is presented to Parking Services: a police report showing the vehicle was entered into illegally, or in the case of a motorcycle or moped, the decal was forcibly removed or an official document from an insurance company stating the registered vehicle was a total loss along with the contents contained within the vehicle, including the hangtag or decal if the vehicle was a motorcycle or moped. If I am not living on campus, am I considered a “Visitor?” No, a visitor is someone that is not a student or employee or otherwise affiliated with the University. How do I register online for a parking permit? Employees and Students who operate and park a vehicle on campus may pay their parking fees online anytime at parking.uah.edu. You may pay your parking fee using a credit card. If you are a student you may charge your parking fee to your student account. If you are a UAH employee, you may use payroll deduction. How can I obtain a Disability Access parking permit? Students and employees with a state DMV-issued Disability Access Parking hangtag or license plate must bring the hangtag or license plate number and registration to UAH Parking Services to have it validated. Also, bring your current UAH hangtag to exchange it. Once it is determined the Disability Access Parking hangtag or license plate was legally issued to the student or employee, a UAH Accessibility Parking hangtag will be exchanged for the student or employee’s zone parking hangtag. If I do not apply for a parking permit, will I automatically receive one? Individuals must register in order to receive a parking permit. Permits are not automatically assigned, unless one of the following citations are issued: Failure to Pay Parking Fee, Use of Expired Hangtag or Parking Credential, or Use of Counterfeit/Altered Hangtag, Placard, or other Parking Credential. May I park in the parking garage? Levels 1 and 2 are reserved for Commuters and Faculty/Staff. Level 3 is reserved for residents of Southeast Campus housing, Fraternity and Sorority Row, and Charger Village. Where do I park if I am away from campus during extended breaks? Those wishing to leave their vehicles on campus during extended breaks (i.e.: Spring Break, Winter Break, etc.) may park their vehicle on the 2nd floor of the IMF (parking garage) without the penalty of a zone violation citation.
