Enrollment has always been important for UAH, but considering recent trends, we are at a critical point for the university’s future. UAH's recruitment, retention and graduation of students is important to the institution's financial health, but this is also essential for UAH's ability to meet the tremendous workforce needs of Huntsville and the greater northern Alabama region.
To this end, the Division of Academic Affairs will be restructuring to better position ourselves for our students. Academic Affairs will include the following units:
- Each of the eight Colleges, including the Honors College and the Graduate School
- Academic Success Advocacy Program
- Disability Support Services
- Enhanced Teaching and Learning and Collaborative Learning
- Institutional Research, Effectiveness and Assessment
- Student Success Center
- M. Louis Salmon Library
- Alabama Space Grant Consortium
- Institute for Science Education
- NEW! Enrollment Management
Enrollment Management is a new unit that will focus on the full lifecycle of recruiting, enrolling, retaining, and graduating students. Within Enrollment Management, there will be Admissions, Financial Aid (including Military and Veterans Programs) and the Registrar offices. Other changes may occur as the unit develops.
We take this opportunity to also announce that Haley Lewis Kennedy has agreed to serve as Interim Director of Undergraduate Admissions. She has been with UAH since 2015, holding positions in both Admissions and Enrollment Services. Haley will serve in this role until the ongoing search for a permanent Director of Undergraduate Admissions is complete. Please join me in thanking and supporting Haley as she fulfills the responsibilities of this important position.
Separately, we are preparing to search for a Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, and the University Registrar search will soon be complete. Patrick James will continue to lead Financial Aid.
