Join us for the Women in Defense Scholar Symposium and Reception

Location: UAH Charger Union Theater

UAH and The Women in Defense - Tennessee Valley Chapter proudly host the 2024 Women in Defense National Scholars, who will present their work at a symposium on October 31, 2024. These graduate students from top universities around the nation exemplify the highest character, academic excellence, and interest in supporting U.S. national security with a focus on defense or foreign policy.

The scholars will share their motivations for defense careers, highlights of their current academic work, and plans for future success. Their interests include Cybersecurity, Advanced Propulsion, Synthesizing Energetic Materials, Rapid Prototyping of Energetic Materials, Flight Test Systems Engineering, and Foreign Policy. Professional and academic leaders from Rocket City who work in similar fields will introduce each scholar while highlighting local workforce opportunities.

Business and academic leaders can connect with top students from around the nation in areas relevant to local workforce development. College and high school students are welcome to attend and gain insights on pursuing these technical areas from the students and community leaders.
