Learn more about the 2024 Engineering Summer Camps! The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is pleased to offer multiple sessions of engineering summer day camps for students in rising 5th through 10th grade. Changing the world is what engineers do - by solving problems with innovation and creativity, and by applying science and technology principles. At UAH, our engineering summer camp programs are designed to introduce students to different engineering fields with classroom learning, hands-on projects, mentoring activities, tours, and much more. APPLY FOR CAMP: Applications are now open for 2024 summer camps! Links to register are within each camp description on this page by clicking on the date you are interested in applying for. Payment is due within 5 days of camp acceptance. Applicants will be considered registered once payment is received. If the camp you are interested in says "WAITLIST" to the left of the date of the camp, this means that the camp is currently full. You are encouraged to submit a waitlist application, which will put you in line to be notified of any cancellations. Waitlist students are contacted on a first-come first serve basis and will be notified via email of any openings. DISCOVERY (Rising 5-6 Grade) In this half-day engineering program, participants will experience hands-on activities, classroom learning, lab tours, and more! Fee: $175* (Includes all camp materials, water bottle, camp t-shirt, and snacks daily) Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM WAITLIST - June 17 - 21 WAITLIST - July 15 - 19 NOTE: The Discovery Camp is offered twice during the summer. There are no differences in the camp curriculum between these two weeks. EXPLORATION (Rising 7-8 Grade) Our full-day engineering program includes hands-on activities, classroom learning, lab tours, a culminating design project, mentoring opportunities, and more! Fee: $400* (Includes all camp materials, water bottle, camp t-shirt, lunch, and snacks daily) Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM WAITLIST - June 24 - 29 WAITLIST - July 8 - 12 NOTE: The Discovery Camp is offered twice during the summer. There are no differences in the camp curriculum between these two weeks. INNOVATION (Rising 9-10 Grade) Our full-day engineering program includes hands-on activities, classroom learning, lab tours, a culminating design project, mentoring opportunities, college preparation, and more! Fee: $400* (Includes all camp materials, water bottle, camp t-shirt, lunch, and snacks daily) Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM WAITLIST - July 8 - 12 CYBER CHARGED (Rising 6-8 Grade) Our full-day program focuses on cybersecurity and includes hands-on activities, classroom learning, lab tours, mentoring opportunities, and more! Fee: $400* (Includes all camp materials, water bottle, camp t-shirt, lunch, and snacks daily) Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Register for: July 22-26 *Scholarships for financial need are now evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis and are very limited. To apply for a scholarship (maximum is 75% of camp fee), indicate on your camp application that you wish to be considered for a scholarship and fill out the additional questions regarding financial need.
