On February 11, 2022 at 11:30am in Morton Hall 126, Fellowship Advisor Jennifer Staton will be talking about two nationally prestigious scholarship opportunities to attend graduate school in the U.K. and Ireland: the Marshall and Mitchell Scholarships.
The Marshall Scholarship provides full funding for American students to obtain a graduate degree in the U.K. (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) in any field of study. This scholarship is ideal for students interested in studying abroad for the entire duration of their graduate degree through the U.K. higher education system and who have extensive leadership track records, including a desire to promote U.S.-U.K. international relations as cultural ambassadors. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher to qualify.
The George J. Mitchell Scholarship (or simply just "the Mitchell") closely mirrors the Marshall Scholarship in terms of the benefits it offers, but students have the chance to study at Irish universities. This scholarship is designed to introduce and connect generations of future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to community and public service.
If you're interested in learning more about either scholarship, join Jennifer on Friday, February 11 at 11:30 am in Morton Hall 126. She will discuss all eligibility requirements, application components, and qualifications of each scholarship as well as provide a first-hand perspective on obtaining a graduate degree in the U.K. All majors are welcome, but only U.S. citizens are eligible to apply for either scholarship.
