Although North Alabama's landscape is a patchwork of urban, suburban, farms, forests, and water, trees dominate the aerial view. This course will cover the historical role of forests and selected tree species since European settlement. Explore the major forest tree species that are important today for providing ecosystem services and forest products as well as speculate on the future of North Alabama's forests.
