Delve into the history, context, and legacy of the classic Gothic novel, Jane Eyre. Sessions will cover the origins of Charlotte Bronte's original tale as well as the literary, cultural, and cinematic legacies of the text. Examine the background of the Gothic genre that inspired Jane Eyre and touch on related books and films that have adapted, revised, or re-imagined the 1847 novel, including Rebecca, Wide Sargasso Sea, and numerous others.
