Genealogy is the study of families, family history, and the tracing of their lineages. Learn how to record your family data using proper citations to prove and confirm your family history. Develop research skills using a variety of sources including the federal and state census, court house data, land, military and immigration records. Getting an account with one of these online sites, FamilySearch.org (Free), Ancestry.com ($) or MyHeritage.com ($), is necessary. Bringing a laptop or iPad is recommended for classwork.
