The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), a part of The University of Alabama System, has announced the dates for the Alumni Weekend celebration, Sep 21 – Sep 24.

Sponsored by the UAH Alumni Association, the annual event will begin on Thursday evening, Sep 21, kicking off with the 22nd annual Alumni of Achievement Awards Dinner. This event will celebrate six UAH Alumni of Achievement honorees, as well as the Outstanding Young Alumni of Achievement honoree, for their professional and personal successes and/or involvement in civic, cultural and charitable activities. 

The Alumni of Achievement Award is the highest honor bestowed by the UAH Alumni Association and recognizes graduates who have distinguished themselves professionally and personally and who exemplify the high standards of UAH.

On Friday, Sep 22, the Alumni Association, Huntsville Sports Commission, UAH Athletics and Downtown Huntsville Inc. are partnering to deliver the Charger Tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on a basketball court at the heart of where the City and University converge at the Northside Square in downtown Huntsville. Charger Tipoff is set to feature men's basketball head coach John Shulman and women's basketball head coach Andrea Lemmond, as well as provide a preview of the 2023-24 teams. Team introductions, games and skills contests will take place on the court at 7:00 P.M.

On Saturday, Sep 23, alumni and friends are invited to attend the Charger Classic Golf Tournament. The tournament will take place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Hampton Cove with tee off at 8:00 A.M.. All revenues generated by the event will benefit the Alumni Association Fund which supports alumni and student programming to sustain a strong organization while serving the University and its graduates.

On Saturday evening at 5:30 P.M., the Department of Athletics will host the 2023 Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Awards Dinner. We will celebrate the induction of the 2023 Class of the UAH Athletics Hall of Fame, announcing seven members that will be enshrined for their extraordinary accomplishments and contributions as a Charger.

Finally, we will round out the weekend with an Alumni Brunch at Humphrey's Bar & Grill! This is a chance for alums to see old friends and make ones while enjoying mimosas, brunch, live music and more!
