Jessica Copeland is a dedicated advocate for inclusive excellence in higher education, with a rich background in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within academic environments. With a master of science in education, specializing in higher education leadership from the University of Tennessee at Martin, and a bachelor of science in urban and regional planning from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (Alabama A&M), her academic journey has been marked by a dedication to fostering environments where all individuals feel valued and empowered.

Currently serving as the education inclusive excellence strategies manager at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), Jessica is the driving force behind DEI initiatives. She is the go-to expert on matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion, spearheading workshops and educational programs tailored for faculty, staff, students, and local businesses.

Previously, Jessica served as a diversity and inclusion specialist at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she facilitated cross-cultural workshops, implemented retention strategies for underrepresented students, and spearheaded initiatives to promote inclusivity. Her impact reached beyond campus, as she leverages innovative teaching methods to engage first-year online students to foster cultural awareness and social justice initiatives.
