Biography

Sonja Greene, MBA, is the president/CEO of Greene Development Company, Inc., a woman-owned small business specializing in strategic solutions, administrative services, professional development training and business development. Recognized as a finalist for the 2019 Innovate Huntsville Entrepreneur of the Year, Sonja is a proud Southern girl who embodies a commitment to excellence and innovation within her community.

Sonja is passionate about leadership and has made it her mission to inspire, encourage and empower women. She has served as a professional panelist at Auburn University, spoken at press conferences on behalf of small businesses, and served as an instructor for the College of Business at Athens State University. She is a graduate of Leadership Greater Huntsville (LGH) Focus ‘27 class and has served on the Women’s Economic Development Council (WEDC) Board of Directors and the WEDC Foundation Board. She has also represented the Huntsville Madison County Chamber of Commerce as an emissary and mentored entrepreneurs as a general business coach for The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship.

She is the president of the Huntsville Madison County Auburn Board and was an Auburn Women’s Summit panelist speaker in 2021. In recognition of her contributions, Auburn University established the LaSonja Antionette Winns-Greene scholarship in 2022 for female students studying business. She also serves on the Huntsville Botanical Garden Advisory Board and writes for Powerhouse Magazine, a magazine dedicated to empowering women. Her podcast, “The Greene Thing with Sonja Greene,” provides a platform to speak candidly about real issues that change lives.

As a sought-after national speaker, Sonja delivers engaging talks to companies like Campbell Soup Company on topics like “Who’s Your Tribe?" and "Your Leadership Is Showing.” She firmly believes that by pouring into others, we elevate ourselves. Her favorite quote is by Zig Ziglar, “You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

She is most proud of her role as Taylor and Sydney’s Mother, and GG to her grandbabies.
