The Alabama Credit Union will award a $1,000 scholarship to one lucky UAH freshman opening a new account before Sept. 1.

The Alabama Credit Union located on the campus of The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will award a $1,000 scholarship to one lucky freshman student opening a new account before Sept. 1.

All freshman students with a valid Social Security number are eligible to open a new account with the Alabama Credit Union (ACU) located on the UAH campus at 851 John Wright Drive N.W., Huntsville, AL. Students may also open a new account during orientation sessions.

"The Alabama Credit Union wants to see UAH students succeed and what better way to do that than to provide a scholarship. Any student, who opens an account with ACU prior to Sept. 1, will be entered to win a $1,000 Scholarship," said June Landrum, ACU North Alabama Manager.

The Alabama Credit Union is a not-for-profit, full-service financial institution with offices across Alabama. It serves persons who live, work, or attend school in Tuscaloosa, surrounding counties and other areas of Alabama. Members’ accounts are federally insured to at least $250,000 by NCUA and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government and additionally insured to $250,000 by Excess Share Insurance. For student accounts with joint owners, joint must be a parent or legal guardian and all account owners must provide a valid state issues driver's license or state issued non-driver's ID, social security number or tax id number, and sign account signature cards.
