Overview

What is the development opportunity?

UAH acquired 58 contiguous acres on the University Drive and Holmes corridors to develop a walkable college-town experience unified around UAH’s identity as a science and industry pioneer. The University is currently procuring a master developer to develop the site.

The development is situated on the northwest portion of campus, along the University Drive and Holmes corridors, on the site currently known as Executive Plaza. The site is located in Cummings Research Park, two miles from Redstone Arsenal, and less than three miles from downtown Huntsville.

This project will be comprised of a multi-phased project with the possibility to develop a combination of student housing, retail, office, institutional / research space, hotel & conference center and other amenities.

UAH is launching a public procurement in compliance with the University of Alabama System guidelines. The procurement process will include a Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) and Request for Proposals (“RFP”) which will result in partner selection. The RFQ will be live from July 10, 2024 to August 16, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. (CT).
